What this site does not do
- No cookies.
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics.
- No ads and no social buttons that follow you.
- No forms: there is nowhere to type your data.
- No accounts or sessions. Nothing is stored in your browser.
What the site shows
The leaderboard shows your in-game name, your public Steam profile picture and the numbers from your activity on the server (kills, deaths, headshots, accuracy, playtime and resources gathered). We do not publish your SteamID. The picture is copied to this site (it is not loaded from Steam when you visit) and disappears if you change or remove it on Steam.
This data is collected by the game server while you play and updated here every 10 minutes. The leaderboard is cleared every wipe; the wipe archive keeps only the name, picture and final number of the top three in each category.
The best-time-to-play chart only counts how many people are online, with no names.
The game server
When you join, Rust itself receives your SteamID, your name and your connection's IP address, and the server logs joins, leaves and chat, like any Rust server. This is needed to run the game, enforce the rules and handle tickets. None of it is published on the site.
Why we process this data
- Playing and moderation: needed to give you access to the server and to enforce the rules you accept when joining.
- Leaderboard, archive and highlights: the community's legitimate interest in showing server activity. You can object at any time and you will be removed from the site.
- Steam picture: taken from your public Steam profile, through Valve's API.
How long we keep it
- Leaderboard: until the next wipe.
- Wipe archive: each wipe's top 3 is kept until you ask to be removed.
- Best-time chart: only name-free counts, for the last 8 days.
- Game server logs: for as long as they are needed for moderation and security.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction or objection to processing. Ask on Discord, with a ticket. If you think your data was mishandled, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt).
Third-party services
The game runs on Steam (Valve) and the community talks on Discord. Those services have their own privacy policies. This site only links to them and sends them none of your data.
Hosting
The site is hosted by OVH (Europe). Like any web server, the host logs requests (IP address, date and page) for technical and security reasons. Those logs belong to OVH and are not used to identify you or for advertising.
Want to leave the leaderboard?
Ask on Discord and your name and picture will no longer appear, in the archive too. You can also ask what data exists about you, or have it deleted.
